1.  How Does It Work?

We value your time! Our two step process should take you less than 10 minutes to complete. Completing the application process will take you approximately 3 to 5 minutes and it should take no more than 2 minutes for our system to process your application. You will receive one of the following responses to your retail financing credit application:

(1) Application Forwarded to a Local Springleaf Financial Services Branch Office: The application will be forwarded to the specified Springleaf Financial Services branch, where a loan specialist will contact you within 1 business day.
(2) Denied: Unfortunately, your application has been denied and we will be unable to assist you with your credit needs at this time. A statement of credit denial will be mailed to you within the next 30 days.
(3) Conditionally Approved: You have been approved, pending verification of the information you provided. Please make note of your application number for further reference. You will need to proceed to your selected merchant and provide the merchant with your approved application number and verification of identification (i.e., driver's license).
(4) Further Review: The application requires further review from one of our loan specialists, and a decision will be sent to you via email within 24 hours.

 

2.  What Information Do I Need?

The information below provides an outline of what you will need for the Springleaf Financial Services retail financing application. Please note that when applying jointly, the information below must be provided by both the primary borrower and the co-applicant. (1) Information Needed to Receive an Online Response:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number (required for primary borrower only)
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Email Address
  • Employer's Name
  • Net Monthly Income

(2) Close the Request at the Branch/Merchant:

  • Verification of Residence Info
  • Verification of Employment
  • Verification of Income
  • Appraisals (secured real estate requests only)
  • Title Searches (secured real estate requests only)
  • Proof of Identification Info

3.  I applied for retail financing and forgot my application number. What do I do now ?

If you have misplaced your retail financing application number, please contact the Springleaf Financial Services merchant to proceed with your financing.

4.  I received a 'Conditionally Approved' decision on my application. Where do I go now?

If you received a 'Conditionally Approved', decision for a retail financing credit application, please note your application number and proceed to the merchant that you selected at the beginning of the application process (the merchant information is provided on the credit approval page). This conditional approval, subject to verification of your application information, is valid for 30 days after it is issued.

5.  I received a 'Further Review' decision on my application. What does this mean?

'Further review' status means that your retail financing application requires further review by an Springleaf Financial Services loan specialist. Rather than making you wait online while this process takes place, we will send the decision regarding your credit application via email within 24 hours.

6.  What is Springleaf Financial Services' relationship with merchants?

Springleaf Financial Services has relationships with thousands of merchants across the country who offer all types of consumer products from home furnishings and appliances to musical equipment and electronics. This relationship allows the customer to make purchases with these merchants using Springleaf Financial Services' retail financing.

7.  What does verification mean?

In order to approve a retail financing request, Springleaf Financial Services must first verify certain aspects of the application, such as the applicant's identity and employment information.

8.  What type of ID is needed for verification?

A valid driver's license or current passport can be used to verify identity.

9.  What is the optimal screen resolution for this site?

This site was designed for a screen resolution of 1024 X 768. If your maximum computer resolution is less than 1024 X 768, you may have to scroll vertically and horizontally in order to view all the information on the page.

10.  Why and how does this site use cookies?

"Cookie" is the term for a small, persistent piece of data that resides in your local computer's browser cache, enabling a site to keep track of a user's actions within it. This site uses cookies for one purpose only: To establish a session ID within the Online Application System and ensure that your application information and approval responses remain confidential. In addition to the assurance of a secure connection, the establishment of a session ID adds another layer of identification for your information as it is routed through Springleaf Financial Services' application servers. In practice, this site installs a cookie with only one key/value pair: the key "sesessionid" and a unique multi-character identification.
